Ice Bucket Challenge in “We Are in This Together”
The bpm’online team proves once again that even pouring ice-cold water over our heads could be both fun and rewarding if done as a collaborative effort of a group of people united with the same idea and for the right cause. From personal nominations to “let’s do it together”, the initiate grew to a gathering of hundreds of bpm’online people with buckets filled with the ice-cold water ready to accept the challenge on our parking lot. With laughing, hugging and words of encouragement we came forward as a team and did it!
The cause
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge started by the family of a former baseball player who was diagnosed with the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The condition affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord degenerating the motor neurons and eventually leading to death. The goal of the challenge was to raise awareness about the disease and collect money for the research. Since its inception, the action went viral raising millions in donations and spreading the word across nations and continents.
The Team
The initiative took our office by the storm with people talking about the idea of getting as many people involved as possible and fulfill the challenge in the unique way. Dozens of cup of coffees and the massive email exchange came to the firm decision to come forward as a group and show the world that we are all in this together and the team is a power! True to their word hundreds of employees of our company participated in the challenge and we are so proud of all of them!
The community
Bpm’online would like to thank every person that participated in this initiative. When people come as one piece in their efforts to fight for the right cause the magic happens. As a business and as an organization we are proud to give back to the community recognizing the fact that our team is not only the most talented and hard-working but the most compassionate and sincere. Because of your good will, foundations like the ALS Association are able to fund research projects that find ways to save lives. Thank you once again and together we are power!
